The Man Who Rewrote the Rules of Retirement
At 90, most people are told to rest.
Dr. Paul Siromoni chose to rise.
Not to fame or comfort, but to classrooms, books, and ideas — and walked proudly across a university stage to earn his PhD.
He didn’t just receive a degree —
He delivered a message to the world:
It’s never too late to learn. It’s never too early to begin again.
A Life Built on Purpose and Service
Born in India in the 1930s, Paul spent most of his life serving others. As General Secretary of YMCA India, he led efforts to uplift lives — from urban slums to rural villages. He founded programs to empower the underprivileged, taught behavioral science, and helped build communities grounded in compassion and dignity.
But after retirement, instead of slowing down, he asked himself:
“What if my best chapter is still unwritten?”
The PhD That Inspired a Nation
Most people fear starting late.
Paul started at 87, diving into academic research with youthful energy and decades of wisdom. His thesis — a spiritual exploration of how the church can build a more loving, just world — wasn’t just intellectual. It was deeply personal.
He wrote six papers, attended seminars, passed tough exams — and kept going. He turned 87 into a new degree. Now it’s your turn.
