Fabulous Hairstyles for Older Women – Celebrity Inspiration

One aspect of our appearance that we pay particular attention to as we age is our hair. After all, it’s the one thing that we wear every single day. Unfortunately, in our youth-obsessed culture, it’s often hard to find examples of hairstyles on models that are actually our age. This particular series of images feature female celebrities who are all over 60. Here are some fabulous hairstyles for older women, as worn by some of my favourite celebrities.

Sharmila Tagore

74 years (8 Dec 1944 )

Sharmila Tagore has a wonderful strength. Her elegance and grace is always present. She is a genuinely a fantastic actress and seems to always be beautiful inside out!  Witty, intelligent, and a little bit edgy, her sense of fashion is royal Her hair always seems to be natural and not overly done up. She seems very down to earth and I imagine her just sitting at home with her hair pulled back casually. Recently at a social event, she disclosed that the goodwill and affection of people, positive thinking, normal exercise and away from controversies makes me happy.

Hema Malini

69 (16 Oct 1948)

Hema Malini always seems quite focused on enhancing her beauty, makeup and fitness.  Always admired for her thick lustrous hair tumbling down her back.  A natural beauty, vibrant and full of life. Her hair seems to be always healthy, thick and flowing, adding to her seductive feminine charm.

Zeenat Aman

67 (19 Nov 1951)

A fascination to so many! She is confident, strong & beautiful! She experiments with haircuts.  She is confident, creative and takes risks. Opinionated, unpredictable, and elegant, she embodies the quirky, individualism of women over 60.

At 67, she relishes the prospect of playing a rebellious granny in a web series “major”. Interesting role because it’s about a grandmother who’s in her 60s, has a baby, and it makes her whole family turn upside down!

Shabana Azmi

67 (18 Sep, 1950)

Is an authentic talent. The bold I don’t think she worries about her hair or makeup as much as other actresses. Her hair matches her personality perfectly – short, pixie and unobtrusive. Her focus is on what she does best – acting. She is natural, down to earth, and funny. To me, her hair reflects her mischievous attitude to life.

Rekha

64 years (10 Oct 1954)
Kanjeevaram sari, red lips and wavy long hair, mostly open or sometimes tied. She’s one of those actresses who stick to their personal style, no matter what the occasion and current trend. Rekha flaunts her trademark hairstyle. Her long wavy hair is swept to one side of her face . The actress believes in the natural goodness of gooseberry or amla, shikakai, fenugreek seeds and coconut oil to maintain strong and healthy hair. She uses a natural hair pack of honey, curd and egg white once a week to ensure beautiful, long and shiny tresses. She never combs her hair when wet and prefers drying it naturally, avoiding hair dryers.

We may not have personal trainers and stylists following us around, but, we can still feel like celebrities on the inside.
